Coachella 2013

Hello lovers, this weekend the famous Coachella 2013 took place in California. For those who are not aware of what Coachella is, it is the Valley Music and Arts Annual Festival which is a three-day festival founded by Paul Tollett, organised by Goldenvoice  and held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California in the Inland Empire's Coachella Valley.

Usual festival staples like denim cut-offs, floral headgear, flowing dresses, vests and floppy hats were well-represented, while several big name brands like H&M, Armani Exchange, Guess and Lacoste hosted on-site events. Here are some of the style highlights from the festival’s first weekend.

Despite her "dope" baseball cap,Ashley’s all-black outfit seemed rather unremarkable. Her printed tee and ripped black jeans were finished off with black sneakers.

Paris went with another Camilla creation for the second day of the festival. She capped off her Lost Gardens of Heligan exclusive halter dress with blue Prada tassel ballet flats and her sister wore animal print shorts, a black tank, a gold statement necklace as well as studded black boots.

Kelly’s camouflage shorts were amplified by a black leather vest. She accessorized with a funky pair of sunglasses and black boots.

Rita’s eye-catching ensemble had a lot going on from that sheer-sleeved jacket to her neon top and those I Love Lucy printed shorts. She finished off her look with a backward baseball cap and white sneakers.

The Twilight stars certainly looked like a happy couple over the weekend. Kristen added a simple white T-shirt to her black HudsonNico midrise raw hem shorts, whileRobert sported a green tee and basic blue jeans.

Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger’s model daughter showed some American pride in a midriff-baring flag tank. Heart-shaped white sunglasses, denim shorts, buckle-accented boots and a fringed bag completed Ireland’s look.

Hilary opted for a more structured look than other attendees. Her army green IRO Calixa blazer with black lapel was styled with a pair of denim shorts, Isabel MarantJenny suede ankle boots and aRag & Bone floppy brim fedora.

Spotted three of the Victoria's angels: Miranda was decked out in a palm-printed Wildfox T-shirt, leather Maison Martin Margiela shorts and Fiorentini + Baker boots. Alessandra's bohemian look consisted of a white peasant blouse, lacy shorts, patterned vest and studded boots, while Candice combined a printed black tank, belted black shorts and matching boots.

Have a nice week everyone!
Peace. x

on the rails

Hello lovers, although in UK is still cold and we carry our coats and furs with us everywhere, this doesn't keep us away from the spring/summer trends. The trend alert is the navy blue; one of the trends I really love because it reminds me of summer. 'Navy is the jet-setting, exotic sibling to the stylish yet predictable black. It conjours up images of movie stars in the glamorous playground of St Tropez and lends itself perfectly to the nautical trend, in its trademark guise of stripes, but is equally as wearable in evening styles, shapes and fabrics,' says my-wardrobe.com's head womens-wear buyer, Joanne Watkinson.

You can wear it with blue jeans, white shorts, red scarf, red jacket, red sandals or ballerinas, white straight pants, jean skirt, or even create a total stripy look. Generally the combination navy blue-red-white is so 'summericious' and it's always a trend during summer time. You never go wrong with this combination. You can have a look here, the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2013 collection, and get inspired how to wear a striped piece during summer time.

Dior at Harrods

On 12th February 1947, Christian Dior presented his first collection and dreamed of reviving the joy, femininity and elegance that women had been deprived of during wartime. The Dior style created a shock, an outright revolution. Instantly dubbed the 'New Look', it sparked unprecedented excitement, unique in the history of fashion.

A tribute to the exceptional savoir-fair that still characterises the House of Dior today, the 'So Dior' exhibition opens with a journey to the heart of excellence in the Haute Couture ateliers, followed by a tour of the exceptional craftsmanship that makes up every part of the Dior world.

It goes on to reveal the historical links between the House of Dior and the UK. Christian Dior loved the English and had great admiration for England and its treasures, with a particular fondness for the department store Harrods.

The outside view!

The so-chic lifts in Harrods!

Hello Dior!

'So Dior' also focuses on Dior the couturier-perfumer, starting with Miss Dior, his very first fragrance created in 1947, with Natalie Portman as the modern-day face of its fresh beauty; then J'adore, whose famous amphora-shaped bottle evokes the femininity of the silhouettes the couturier adored. The predominance of gold recalls the refinement of the Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, the unforgettable setting around Charlize Theron, the icon of this precious perfume.

The Lady Dior bag! What could be more Dior than Lady Dior, the iconic handbag whose name pays homage to the Princess of Wales, its most exceptional ambassador. With its ever-renewed links to the contemporary art scene it serves as a fundamental bridge for a House whose founder was a visionary gallery owner before becoming a couturier.

The Fashion Theatre is a scaled down evocation of the one set up by Harrods in 1953, which served as the stage for presentations of Dior outfits. Close to 40 of Dior Haute Couture's most emblematic silhouettes, reproduced here in miniature form, tell the history of the Couture House on Avenue Montaigne. From the legendary Bar ensemble to today's designs by Raf Simons, it traces the evolution of the Dior line and its timeless modernity.

"Dior is this agile genius of our times whose magical name contains Dieu (=God) and or (=gold)." - Jean Cocteau

Stars today and stars of yesterday come together to protray the glittering Dior galaxy. From Margot Fonteyn to Marion Cotillard, the most beautiful, talented women have accompanied the House of Dior from 1947 to the present, trusting in Dior to magnify their beauty.

"Perfume is the indispensable complement to the personality of women, the finishing touch on a dress" - Christian Dior
I love you, Dior!
